Ben Affleck has been a part of not one but two Hollywood power couples. Although his on-again-off-again relationship with Jennifer Lopez has garnered significant media attention throughout the years. His marriage with Jennifer Garner has captured millions of hearts. Although now divorced, the couple share three kids together. But besides being married for a decade, Affleck time and again expressed his desire to direct his then-wife. But Garner has made it clear that she has no intention of working with the Batman actor.
The actress thus has explained the reasons that are preventing her from working with Affleck on various occasions and one among them is extremely hilarious, to say the least.
Why Jennifer Garner Doesn’t Want to Work With Ben Affleck?
Although the actress Jennifer Garner now, after their divorce, could have an array of reasons as to why she would not like to work with her ex-husband Ben Affleck, back in the day she had some pretty strong reasons as well. Garner is an extremely private individual and always has been since the early days of her career. And therefore, expressed her feelings about not bringing her private life to work.
Before the 13 Going On 30 actress and Affleck started dating, JLo and the actor were all the rage. “Bennifer” who has since rekindled their romance and tied the knot after almost two decades, blamed the excessive media attention for their initial split. And thus in an effort to avoid repeating the same mistake, Garner and Affleck made a deliberate choice to keep marriage private. Interestingly, despite working on a few films together the couple chose not to work together again, solely to maintain their privacy. While speaking to W Magazine, the actress revealed,
“I think he’s brilliant at what he does, but why rock the boat? It works between us pretty well the way it is. I don’t know if I want to go to work with him. I’d be like, ‘Okay already, you got the shot. Let’s go home!’”

Another reason that is hilarious came out in a separate interview as per Just Jared was,
“I don’t want to because he is not the world’s fastest director, and I like to get in and do my work and go home and put the kids to bed.”
While it seems pretty unlikely that the duo will ever join hands again to bring something forth on the big screen to treat their fans, only time will tell if it ever ends up happening.
Ben Affleck Wished to Direct Jennifer Garner in a Movie
Despite all the ups and downs the ex-coupled faced, Ben Affleck has time and again credited Jennifer Garner for his success in the industry. In an interview with Loaded magazine as reported by Aol. he stated,
“Getting to know Jennifer, falling in love with her and being connected with her gave me a foundation to reach out and say, okay, I’m going to do Hollywoodland. I’m going to direct Gone Baby Gone. Those were the steps forward I needed to put positive stuff on the board.”
In a 2017 People interview, Affleck further expressed his desire to direct the talented actress, he said,
“I think that would be great. I’ve often said that I want to direct a movie that Jennifer was in because I think she’s so great and she could do something really cool”
But despite the desire a project such as this never came to be.
