Dwayne Johnson has become an insanely huge internet personality since his rise to fame in WWE as The Rock. The actor now stars in DC’s most anticipated movie of the year, Black Adam where he plays the protagonist.

The DC Extended Universe has gone through a rocky phase, despite many huge stars such as Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot joining the cast. The universe’s future seemed even dimmer after the release of Justice League, but Black Adam is expected to change all that.

The viewers of the testing screening were surprised by the appearance of The Rock at the theatre, according to a video he posted on Instagram. The actor went on to ask the audience their opinion of the movie, with many finding the ending to be very satisfactory.

Many also found the acting of Dwayne Johnson to be the best aspect of the film, as one viewer stated the actor’s presence and charisma made Black Adam feel unique. Also when the actor asked what stood out for the viewers, a viewer noted:

Can Black Adam save the DCEU?

The movie comes at a time when the studio needs this film to succeed, as its failure will further plunge the DCEU into a lost cause. Not only is the film introducing Dwayne Johnson’s character, but it is also introducing the JSA, who can even have their spin-offs later on.

There are also a lot of rumors suggesting Henry Cavill might feature in the film in some capacity, signaling the return of Superman from Snyderverse. Despite resistance from many, Snyder fans are plenty and will surely join in to see more of that universe’s stories.

The positive reception from test screening does give the studio some relief as The Flash is expected to be another nightmare for them, due to Ezra Miller’s controversies. Slated to be the biggest film of the year for DC, they are banking a lot on its success.

Black Adam is set to release on October 21, 2022.
