Marvel star, Clark Gregg joins the SAG-AFTRA strike in Los Angeles
A lot of stars have joined the ongoing SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes during the last week and this week the world saw an even greater number of participation from the A-listers of the industry. Clark Gregg who is best known for his portrayal of Agent Phil Coulson in the Marvel Studios was also seen on Monday at a picket line in front of the Fox Studios in Los Angeles.
The actor talked about his stance against the use of AI and revealed that he is not a fan of AI tools that change the appearance of actors without even having their consent. He said,
“Everyone talks about AI. As someone who has worked in a universe where you get scanned a lot, it made me a little nervous at the time. I have been de-aged and I have seen what that’s like. I’m open to new technologies. I’m often excited by them, but you don’t get to turn me into megabytes of information that you can use whenever and however you would like. That’s not the nature of a partnership with an artist.”
The Choke director does not believe that AI is necessarily a bad tool
The Marvel star, Clark Gregg also talked about how he believes that AI can be used for good reasons as well but he feels that there is a lack of trust between the actors and the studios. He said,
“I don’t believe the technology is inherently bad. Maybe there’s really cool things that can happen with this that would make our creative and technical lives easier but you can only do that if you’re in a partnership that has trust and verify.”
Many stars other than Clark Gregg, have also joined the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes recently. Some of the big names including Bryan Cranston, Rachel McAdams, Lupita Nyong’o, Mark Ruffalo, Quinta Brunson, Allison Janney, and Bob Odenkirk were seen leading the people throughout the country against the policies of AMPTP.
