Tom Holland quickly rose to superstardom with his Spider-Man role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tom Holland Had a Special Connection With Janet Jackson
“My mom thought I could dance because I used to dance to this Janet Jackson song she’d play when I was a baby.”
Due to his talent for dancing, his mother decided to get him enrolled in a dance school.
“Then she would take me to a Saturday dance school. I used to go every week and got spotted by a scout, who suggested I audition for the role of Billy in Billy Elliot the Musical. When I first started auditioning, I was too small and I couldn’t dance.”
He didn’t lose hope and kept on honing his skills until he eventually got a little spot onstage. His love for ballet brought him to what he wanted.
“I trained for two years. I auditioned every six months for Billy Elliot and got slightly bigger every time I went, and eventually I got the job. I’m very happy I had that training. It’s been so valuable to my career, and I’ve used it on almost everything I’ve done since.”
His skill became a crucial part of his life as he continued to get the benefit from almost everything he got his hands on. However, it was not easy since he also had to face bullies who made fun of him.
Tom Holland Was Bullied During His Childhood
In a 2017 interview with PEOPLE, the MCU actor had to face real-life bullies all because he was dancing which they felt was something wrong.
He definitely went through some “rough patches” but he continued to strive hard. Due to the discipline and flexibility, he got from learning dancing, he was able to perform action sequences for his role of web-slinger in the MCU. Thus, his skill eventually led him to become one of the world’s most popular actors in the world.
