Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon surprised us during their trailer launch on 24 August 2023. The game’s live-action trailer featured none other than The Boys star Karl Urban. It was a great gift to the gaming community since it has been a decade since Armored Core 5 was released. Karl Urban has undoubtedly increased the love of vehicular mechs.
But the game has already been tampered with upon its release. It has not even been a day since Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon hit the market, yet the modders have already started to do their work. This time, their work is much appreciated by the gamers. The modders have managed to put a fan-favorite inside Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon.
Which Characters Did The Modders Put In Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon?
People are often frustrated with the modders, but it is the opposite with Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. It is so because they put the main playable character, Carl Johnson, from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Carl Johnson, or CJ, is one of the most loved characters from the Grand Theft Auto franchise.
Armored Core VI is a game dealing with vehicular mechs, so modders made sure to make Carl Johnson a mech. Dropoff and TKGP did this. He can shoot bullets from his hands, fly, and has a metal body without any cheat codes. For the moment, this version is not available for gamers. Popular mod sites like NexusMods do not have the mod yet. So both GTA: San Andreas and Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon have to wait a bit more.
Most think it to be funny, but few find it hard to digest. Everyone knew Carl Johnson as a human, but now he will be giving off Metal Gear vibes. This is not the first time Carl Johnson has appeared in a game other than GTA: San Andreas. But those games did not have Carl Johnson modded into them so early.
Which Games Have Been Carl Johnson Modded Into?
Before Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon, there have been several games in which Carl Johnson has appeared. Some were good, while some were just bizarre to think about. Modders have put Carl Johnson as a playable character in Dark Souls. In Sekiro, Carl Johnson can be used to fight his friend, Big Smoke (who later turns into a villain). The Sekiro mod was done by Dropoff, too, who comes as a Carl Johnson admirer.
But the most bizarre Carl Johnson appearance happened in Stray when he was made into a playable cat. Other games that had Carl Johnson are Street Fighter 6 and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. A mecha-Carl Johnson is something no one saw coming.
Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon has received high marks from Wes Felon, PCG’s resident mech expert. So it is thought that FromSoftware’s decade-long wait to release Armored Core VI has been worth it. Moreover, Carl Johnson is already here to make it much more worthwhile as a fan-favorite playable character.
