Microsoft has been wanting to continue moving its system on Xbox, so as not to lose interaction with players, and now, it wants them to publicize their most impressive achievements in console games. As the company looks at the system, one aspect which many may find similar to Sony’s system for the PlayStation, is that Xbox has “Achievements,” which symbolize important goals reached by users.
However, in a new change being considered, Microsoft doesn’t just seem to want to copy the trophy system, it wants to improve the scheme with more difficult and diverse challenges.
In Its Own Style, Microsoft Xbox Wants To Take Inspiration From PlayStation’s Trophy System
The Xbox system should receive changes soon, because according to recent news, Microsoft is considering adding “Platinum Achievements,” as well as those of Sony’s Playstation to motivate its users. It all comes from an alleged conversation with an Xbox executive during Gamescom, that we will break down here.
This information comes from a conversation with the co-host of The Xbox Two Podcast, Jez Corden, who in the last episode mentioned that at Gamescom he made contact with a Microsoft executive. The subject of Achievements for the console came up and the executive said that the major force is interested in reforming the achievement scheme in their system.

The presenter said he was in favor of these “Platinum Achievements” being added to the Xbox in addition to highlighting other improvements that can and should happen at one time or another. But the desire of executives with greater (financial) power must be satisfied first.
This achievement system serves to encourage players to continue with a title even after completing it, whether in a game with a narrative campaign or not. These challenges appear to take the game to the most specific points and in executive terms, make the buyers spend as much time as possible with the product.

While some see more opportunities to explore their favorite worlds with achievements that unfold into other secondary challenges and search for hidden Easter eggs, other more fanatical views see this news as more fuel for the “console wars,”
This “fight” on the one hand is healthy, when companies compete to deliver increasingly better products and conditions to their consumers. However, it can take on exaggerated proportions when the fandoms themselves start an online war that spoils a comparison of preferences and ends up becoming offensive. Whether you’re an Xbox or PlaySTation user we’re all on two sides of the same coin. The best arguments are those that only serve to entertain, and do not become a childish dispute.
What do you think about this? Would you like for Platinum Achievements to be added? If any, what side of this console wars are you on? Let us know in the comments!
