Steven Seagal is a prominent name in Hollywood for all the notorious reasons. The actor achieved stardom with his roles in action flicks like Under Seige and Executive Decision. But on the other hand, the martial artist has received a horde of se*ual misconduct allegations over the years by several female associates. But it’s not only the female associates who found his behavior questionable as his The Glimmer Man co-star also passed some spicy statements about him.
Brian Cox is seen in projects like X2, Troy, and the recently released critically acclaimed series Succession. Cox starred alongside Steven Seagal in The Glimmer Man and certainly didn’t like his experience. His statements on Seagal make it evident that the Casey Ryback star is not a very pleasant face in the industry.
What did Brian Cox say about Steven Seagal?
The Half Past Dead actor doesn’t hold a very nice impression on the eyes of Brian Cox. The Logan Roy actor worked with Steven Seagal in The Glimmer Man which he probably wants to forget about. The movie was bashed by critics who criticized it heavily and the thriller even turned out to be a disaster at the box office.
In his autobiography titled Putting the Rabbit in the Hat, Brian Cox shared his perspective on many notable Hollywood names such as Steven Seagal, Johnny Depp, Edward Norton, Quentin Tarantino, and many others. In his statement about the 71-year-old martial artist, Cox said:
“Steven Seagal is as ludicrous in real life as he appears on screen. He radiates a studied serenity, as though he’s on a higher plane to the rest of us, and while he’s certainly on a different plane, no doubt about that, it’s probably not a higher one.”
Brian Cox isn’t the only The Glimmer Man co-actor who showed a negative reception to Seagal’s working process. Stephen Tobolowsky who played Christopher Maynard in the 1996 movie revealed that Steven Seagal caused problems in the production when he refused to follow the script. As described by Tobolowsky, the actor suddenly admitted that he no longer wanted to kill any character in his movies. This delayed the filming as it was necessary for the plot to kill Maynard.
But this incident is nothing if compared to the other serious allegations against the On Deadly Ground actor by several female stars and crewmembers.
A Look into Steven Seagal’s notorious past in Hollywood
Steven Seagal has been alleged of se*ual misconduct behavior quite a significant amount of times during his career. From actresses like Pamela Anderson, Jenny McCarthy, Portia De Rossi, and Julianna Margulies, to some female assistants, many raised their voices against the Code of Honor actor.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the Baywatch star opened up about her experiences with Seagal. Pamela Anderson added that the actor allegedly asked her to fulfill some strange conditions in exchange for a role in his movie.
“I remember him saying to me, ‘If you don’t do it, then that girl across the hall will do it, and she’ll get the job.'”
Even though the actress didn’t agree to the unpleasant conditions, Seagal was also alleged of se*ual misconduct by 4 female assistants. They reported that Steven Seagal passed some crude remarks on them. Besides them, a lot of other women also accused him of se*ual assaults which ultimately forced the actor out of Hollywood. But he isn’t out of headlines as recently he created a buzz after receiving the Order of Friendship medal from the Vladimir Putin-led Russian Government.
