Hanks and Cruise were featured in the 2001 TV show America: A Tribute to Heroes. The Forrest Gump star has also described the Top Gun star as one of his closest friends, and one of the things Hanks loves about his friend is his special Christmas cake.
During an interview with Mythical Kitchen, the 66-year-old actor shared his ideal last meal and claimed that he wanted the famous Tom Cruise cake as dessert for his last meal.
Tom Hanks Wants the Tom Cruise Cake in His Last Meal
As much as Tom Cruise is known for his work on screen, he is also known for keeping close ties with his co-stars. And he has a tradition of wishing Merry Christmas to his close friends a special Christmas cake. Many, including the Academy Award winner Tom Hanks, are the Hollywood stars who receive the cake in the festive season.
And like everyone else, the Cast Away star also loves the sweet present so much that he wants to have it in his last meal. During an interview with Mythical Kitchen, he shared multiple items he wants in his last meal ranging from challah bread French toast to a Greek salad with calamari. And he had something “great” planned for his desert.
He mentioned that the cake is so great that he only has it once a year. “Look at it. Would you look at it,” he said, admiring the white chocolate coconut bundt cake. And he did not forget to mention that it is the special cake that he receives every year from his friend and Hollywood star Tom Cruise.

Further talking about the ‘Tom Cruise cake,’ the actor shared that not just him but the cake is also a big hit at the Playtone office, the production company run by him and producer Gary Goetzman. He shared that everyone eagerly waits for the cake and constantly checks the mail, waiting for the “Tom Cruise cake.”
“They start eyeing what mail has come in. Is the big box coming in? Are we getting, what has essentially been called, the Tom Cruise cake?” he shared. He also shared how his officemates would take a proper size slice of the cake. Hanks claimed that no one wishes for it to finish off and “starts slicing thinner and thinner slices,” hoping it would last longer.
