“Would be funny if it flops harder than Shazam 2”: Marvel Fans Troll James Gunn after The Flash Predicted to Earn Less Than Ant-Man 3

"Would be funny if it flops harder than Shazam 2": Marvel Fans Troll James Gunn after The Flash Predicted to Earn Less Than Ant-Man 3

Although reliably popular superhero films aren’t breaking records as they used to, DC fans had high hopes for Ezra Miller’s The Flash. After films like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Shazam: Fury of the Gods failed to strike records unlike their predecessors, The Flash‘s possibility looks even bleaker. And as it appears, the DC franchise’s staple has thus been predicted to earn even less than Ant-Man 3. Amid such tumultuous times, Marvel fans gathered on Twitter to troll James Gunn following the brutal prediction of The Flash‘s loss.

The Flash Is Predicted To Earn Less Than Ant-Man 3

Irrespective of having big names and franchises, superhero movies are currently losing their touch and failing to break the bank. Following the dramatic box office crash of popular superhero films like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Shazam: Fury of the Gods, it was quite the debate over DC’s staple, The Flash

Although mega franchises paled in comparison to their predecessors, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, proved to be a massive hit on the contrary. Thus, fans expect a miracle to happen for The Flash as well. However, as per The Hollywood Reporter, The Flash and Elemental, are not expected to be big. Similar predictions are being provided according to Box Office sources as well.

The Flash being a pretty big name and starring Ezra Miller in the titular role, is highly anticipated. However, despite fans’ love and well wishes, the movie is predicted to fail miserably at the Box Office. The Andy Muschietti-directed movie was expected to earn the most during its opening weekend, however, as per predictions, it appears to be pacing to open in the $70 million range.

Predicted to earn drastically less than MCU’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which opened to $106M domestically, DC’s The Flash appears simply out of comparison.

Marvel Fans Troll James Gunn Over His Box Office Failure

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania earned a total of $470M globally after six weeks of release and yet eviscerated the trilogy records among the “Ant-Man” standalone films. Thus, with DC’s The Flash, predicted to open at the pace of $70M, Marvel fans have started trolling James Gunn and his experiment with the franchise.

Calling out Warner Bros’ unnecessary hyping of the film with special early screenings, that evidently served no good, Marvel fans gathered on Twitter to criticize James Gunn. Irrespective of endorsements from interesting people like Tom Cruise and Stephen King, dark clouds hover over The Flash. And Marvel fans are leaving no opportunity to disgrace the DC executive.

Despite all negativity and low-earning box office predictions, DC fans still support and hope for The Flash to perform well.
