'World War Hulk is Definitely Happening': Marvel Fans Finally Warm Up To She-Hulk as Show Redeems Itself By Setting Up Iconic Hulk Arc in MCU

Finally receiving a new addition to the Hulk family, Jessica Gao’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law was released as a part of MCU’s Phase 4. It stars Tatiana Maslany as the titular character and sees the return of Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/ Hulk and Tim Roth as Abomination.

It follows the journey of Jennifer Waters as she learns to live with the fact that she’s both a lawyer and a superpowered green giant. Jessica Gao had teased a different format to the Marvel show, attempting a more self-aware approach.

Reception of the new Hulk production

Considering the hype behind the show and it is the only solo Hulk production since The Incredible Hulk in 2008, a lot was riding on the show. Unfortunately, many fans were disappointed with the first episode.

Amongst all the criticisms, fans found the protagonist was hard to like and the pacing was all over the place. Even though the origin story was placed in the first episode, many found it difficult to get to know the character.

References redeem the show

As is common for any Marvel production, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is also filled with references to other Marvel movies and shows, also seemingly setting up future productions. Many have found the references in the show to have redeemed it.

Thunderbolts? World War Hulk? Wolverine?Shang-Chi tie-in? Eternals tie-in? all in one episode? #SheHulk is killing it so far episode 2 was amazing and I feel sorry for the people who aren’t watching it.

Amongst all the references, the ones that stood out were Wolverine, Eternals, and Shang Chi. Since the departure of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, fans have been waiting for a new casting.

Is World War Hulk confirmed?

Despite Mark Ruffalo being the most popular and current actor to play Hulk, he hasn’t starred in a standalone movie on his character. While fans were excited about the She-Hulk show, many still wanted to see the actor explore Bruce Banner in his own movie.

Amongst all the references in She-Hulk, one of them that has the fans excited is World War Hulk. By the end of episode 2, we see Hulk sitting on a spaceship and on his way back to Sakaar. In the comics, he becomes World War Hulk after absorbing the radiation from the planet Sakaar and becoming stronger.
