The DC Extended Universe has found itself toe-to-toe with critical divisiveness and financial misfortune, but the one glimmer of hope for the franchise… Wonder Woman is paving the way to a brighter future.
A sequel to last years highly praised, first female led (kinda), superheroine flick became a main priority for Warner Brothers after raking in $821 million at the box office! Details have been a little bit skimpy, (especially with restructuring of the DCEU after the not-so-great performance of DC’s mega team up movie… Justice League) but we have a few details:
- Gal Gadot will return as Wonder Woman
- Patty Jenkins will return to direct the sequel
- The sequel has planted it’s flag on a November 1st 2019 release date
- Chris Pine could be returning
- The sequel will be another war era film set during the 1980’s.

We are now getting a few details on the possible villain of the sequel!Deadline is now reporting that… Kristen Wiig is being eye to play the villain… Cheetah. Wiig has shown herself to able to adapt to a variety of different roles as an actress through her years on SNL as well as various comedic and dramatic roles in films like… Bridesmaids, The Martian, and Ghostbusters.
