With great courage, the Ray actor has been fighting an undisclosed illness, and the talented actor did not hold back in showing his admiration for his sister for her support during this trying time.
Jamie Foxx Paid A Heartfelt Tribute To His Sister
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, Jamie Foxx wished Deidra Dixon (his sister) a happy birthday, thanking her for standing by him during his recent health battle and saving his life with with her decision making. The actor shared a touching throwback photo on Instagram, capturing the essence of their unbreakable bond.
The photo spoke volumes about their journey together, capturing their radiant smiles and shared moments of strength in the face of adversity. He captained the post with the hashtag #leoseason:
“Happy birthday to my beautiful for sister @frequency11 “D”… you are magical you are beautiful you are the courageous lionesses.”
The Oscar winner, who has recently been battling health problems, admitted that Dixon made some important choices that might have prevented him from dying.
“And without you I would not be here… had you not made the decisions that you made I would’ve lost my life…. I love you forever and ever happy birthday sis.”

For the unvsered, Jamie Foxx has two sisters, Deidra and Deondra Dixon. The latter died in October 2020, at the age of 36.
Emotional Jamie Foxx Expressed Gratitude To Family
This is not the first time Jamie Foxx showed his gratitude to his sister. He previously thanked Deidra Dixon for saving his life during his recent health problems. The 55-year-old had already thanked his sister and her daughter (Corinne Foxx) for keeping him “protected” after his hospital stay in April.
Foxx had not posted anything on social media since he made a video message for his fans on July 22, after he suffered a health setback on April 11. The Collateral actor stated in the video:
“To be honest with you, my sister Deidra Dixon, my daughter Corinne Marie saved my life. So today, and to God, to a lot of great medical people, I’m able to leave you this video. ‘I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in in such a way.”
Following the health crisis, the Blame It singer expressed gratitude to his family for their unwavering support:
“Y’all know they kept it airtight, didn’t let nothing out. They protected me and that’s what I hope that everyone could have and moments like these.”
He also provided an explanation for his low-key recovery in the video.
“I went through something that I thought I would never ever go through. I know a lot of people were waiting and you know wanting to hear updates but to be honest with you I just didn’t want you to see me like that man.”
He continued:
“I did go through … I went to hell and back. And my road to recovery had some potholes as well. But I’m coming back. And I’m able to work.”
In terms of his professional work, Foxx was recently seen in the science fiction comedy mystery film They Cloned Tyrone. Reviews of the movie were favorable, with special attention paid to the comedy and performances of the cast.
