The 40-year-old British actor will leave The Witcher after season three, and his 26-year-old co-star is still getting hard to process the news.

Anya Chalotra On Henry Cavill’s Exit News
In October 2022, Henry Cavill made the announcement that he would no longer be portraying Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski’s fantasy books.
Anya Chalotra, the leading lady of The Witcher, discussed Cavill’s decision in a recent interview (The Telegraph). She admitted that it had been challenging to find closure as the news was released after they had finished filming their final scene together.
Well, the 26-year-old actress appeared in several n*ked or nearly n*ked scenes, including one where she and her A-list co-star conversed briefly while splashing in the tub. Additionally, there were six n*ked dancers on the stage with her.
“I didn’t think about it while filming.”
Sharing her views about the scene, the Wanderlust actress further added:
“That was when my anxiety would start. It was the first big project I’d ever done. I didn’t know how I was going to be on camera more than anything else. The thing I worried about more than anything is, ‘How am I going to do this character justice?’ When it came to more intimate scenes in season one, they all seemed right at the time. That was a part of Yennefer’s journey. As long as we’re progressing the story, then we’re OK.”
‘We’re Going To Feel That Loss’
Henry Cavill believed it was essential to carry out all of his own stunts in order to portray Geralt of Rivia in the most accurate manner possible on screen. He was given a stunt double by Netflix executives, but he declined as he wanted to do justice to the role.
Moreover, he is said to have carried a sword with him at all times when he was not working. The Tudors actor practiced whenever he could, including in between takes.
However, on Saturday, October 29, 2022, Cavill announced that The Witcher Season 3 will be his last as Geralt of Rivia. Instead, Liam Hemsworth would be taking up the White Wolf’s swords.
Anya Chalotra expressed her displeasure over Cavill’s abrupt departure:
“That news was hard to take because he’s family. We’ve been together for five years. So for anyone to leave after working with someone for that long, we’re going to feel that loss. When we are all on set, we’re dedicated to playing these characters and bringing them to life in the best way. And that is exactly what I felt every day from Henry.”
After leaving The Witcher, Cavill made a cameo appearance as Superman in Black Adam.
