John Wick 5 Is Not Happening Anytime Soon
Plans are meant to be changed and that has happened with the action film. John Wick franchise did have plans for another sequel, but what went wrong suddenly? The director’s plan was to shoot two movies back to back, which means fans could have gotten chapter 5 after the recent film. But suddenly the production had a change of plans and they didn’t film the fifth installment.
In a recent interview with ComicBook, the director Chad Stahelski revealed why a sequel 5 wasn’t shot. Well, he opened up about how he isn’t that “bright” to give back-to-back films. The director’s focus is basically on creating one really good film, rather than two consecutive ones.
“I’m just not that bright. I’m not that clever. I’m not that good as a director to project my vision years into the future and do two great movies. In this way, I change choreographers and I rotate stunt teams on literally every film and we’re always trying to be creatively better. And we’re trying to outdo ourselves from last time. I think it would be unfair to our fan base and unfair to the property, in general, to just stretch it out for the sake of efficiency or financial or creative efficiency. I’d rather do it, take a breather, get our s*** together, analyze our mistakes, and see what worked and what didn’t.”
He wants creative ideas to pop in and doesn’t want to get stressed about making two films.
Keanu Reeves’ Return Remains Uncertain

The ending of John Wick: Chapter 4 has been quite emotional for the fans. Writers of the film always know well the importance of a good ending and where the film is headed towards. In one of the interviews, co-writers Michael Finch and Shay Hatten revealed that the death plot doesn’t justify that the popular hitman is dead.
“What I will say is that we never actually see him die. We see a grave plot. What happened in between is up for interpretation.”
Director Stahelski has already revealed that he and Keanu Reeves are already “done for the moment”. They will be putting the character to rest for some time and a sequel might not happen soon. The director is focused on analyzing mistakes, working on new ideas, and not making repetitive films like other franchises.

He added that he wants to get the audience’s reviews first on the film and look at how it performed. He is aware that they made such films as people loved them, and that’s the reason he looks forward to the audience’s response. Now as people have loved chapter 4, fans can still hold on to hope for another installment in the future.
