While many may not like the Hispanic singer, she is undoubtedly one of the most popular figures amongst youth in the last two decades. The new feature documentary will be produced by Apple TV+ alongside Interscope Films and Lighthouse M&M, the trio had previously collaborated on Billie Eilish’s The World Is A Little Blurry last year.

What’s Selena Gomez: My Mind and Me About?

Selena Gomez: My Mind and Me is going to be a huge treat for the Selenators, a fandom that is head over heels for anything related to the pop star.

Gomez first broke through onto mainstream media by appearing in various Disney Channel series for television, including a lead role in Wizards of Waverly Place. Her commercial performance in the field of music isn’t far off either- she has sold over 7 million albums and 22 million singles worldwide.

The singer-songwriter was also in the spotlight for quite some time with her highly public on-and-off relationship with Justin Bieber.

The new documentary has an interesting storyline and is set to be directed by Alek Keshishian who directed Madonna: Truth or Dare, the most successful documentary of its time.

The official summary on the Apple TV+ Press page reads-

“After years in the limelight, Selena Gomez achieves unimaginable stardom. But just as she reaches a new peak, an unexpected turn pulls her into darkness. This uniquely raw and intimate documentary spans her six-year journey into a new light.”

The summary may be referring to Gomez’s mental health, which she openly discusses about. She also has bipolar disorder which she announced in 2020.

The Documentary Summary Gets Negative Responses

Selenators will be hoping that Alek Keshishian can pull off an outstanding documentary feature in Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me, just like she did for Madonna in Madonna: Truth or Dare.

While Selena Gomez‘s fandom is surely excited about the new documentary from Apple TV+, it’s gotten some pretty weird responses from Twitter. Some users reacted to the summary that was given for the documentary on the Apple TV+ Press page, saying,

Star Wars movie? –

The term ‘mid’ has been overused-

Another Star Wars reference-

No words, just emojis-

This user is unaware of Gomez’s mental health issues-

It’s kind of clear from all the negative tweets that none of them are having any of this idol worship. But it doesn’t discredit the fact that Gomez has had to go through a lot of things in her life, and that alone warrants at least a one-time viewing of the upcoming documentary.

Selena Gomez: My Mind and Me does not have a release date yet.
