Jada Pinkett Smith once collaborated with Tom Cruise in the movie Collateral. The action thriller movie also starred big names like Jamie Foxx, Mark Ruffalo, and Jason Sathnam. The movie was released on 6 August 2004, where Cruise played the character of Vincent, Pinkett Smith portrayed Annie, and Foxx was seen as Max in the movie.
The movie was directed by Michael Mann and the film received plaudits as well. During an interview, the 51-year-old actress shared her experience when she was filming for the movie Collateral.

“I play an Assistant State Attorney and I’m one of the characters who’s on Tom Cruise’s hit list.”
While talking about the filmmaker, the actress said,
“Finally, I’m willing to listen to somebody! Will’s going: “Why can’t I get some of that!”
Pinkett Smith mentioned that Will Smith also wanted his wife to follow his advice. This makes it very clear the Girls Trip actress does the opposite of it.
Jada Pinkett Smith says Tom Cruise taught her how to accept compliments
During an interview, the Gotham actress disclosed one big thing that her Collateral co-star and superstar Tom Cruise taught her. While talking about the Risky Business actor, Pinkett Smith said Cruise pointed out how the actress would always dismiss compliments. She said that the one piece of advice that the Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation actor gave her the actress was to take compliments from others generously.
“I used to believe I wasn’t pretty, because growing up, I was never told that I was. Actually, it was Tom Cruise who taught me how to get rid of those doubts. He said, ‘Every time I compliment you, you always reject it. You need to stop doing that. Just say, ‘Thank you. So I’ve learned to accept a compliment.”
Pinkett Smith’s husband Smith is also friends with the Top Gun actor. After the Oscars controversy, there was a rumor that the Men In Black actor reached out to Cruise to get his career back on track. Reports also suggested that Cruise has not been responsive, as Smith’s aggression at the Oscars has disappointed him.
