Arnold Schwarzenegger can be pretty straightforward while calling someone out for their laziness but he doesn’t back away from offering compassionate advice for them to overcome their flaws. Despite growing up in a tough environment under the supervision of a strict father, The Terminator Star has always believed in spreading positivity and making the world a better place.
However, the actor explained that his dedication to helping people haven’t always worked out as people nowadays have become sensitive, as he went on to tackle the negativity surrounding the internet.
Arnold Schwarzenegger believes that people have become too sensitive nowadays
Apart from his illustrious career in the realm of acting and bodybuilding, Arnold Schwarzenegger has also been pretty active in making other people’s lives better. However, the actor’s honest opinion isn’t always well received by everyone, as Schwarzenegger tackles the topic of how sensitive many peoples have become nowadays, especially about their bodies. Even though the actor genuinely wants to help them, some of them become too vulnerable and aren’t delighted by his straightforward advice. Following these situations, the actor explained how he deals with those scenarios by stating,
“They maybe have, but remember what Nietzsche said: ‘For every attack, there’s a defense.’ If people are sensitive, let’s figure out what we can say. I say at a seminar, ‘When you’re fat …’ and then somebody afterward says, Maybe instead say, ‘Lose weight’ or ‘Extra pounds.’ It’s not hard to do. We have to make an effort and not say, ‘This is outrageous, now they want [to change how we say] this.'”
But the actor doesn’t always come around as strict and hard when calling someone out for their laziness, as Schwarzenegger once used compassion and sympathy to help a struggling fan.
Arnold Schwarzenegger once helped a struggling fan suffering from depression
Underneath all the heavy bulk, instead of helping someone with tough love, Arnold Schwarzenegger believes in helping people with love and compassion. During a Ask me anything session on Reddit, The Terminator star showcased compassion and sympathy after a struggling fan, who was suffering from depression, asked for some motivation from the actor. Instead of being strict, the actor shared compassionate advice for the fan, thus helping him in getting back to the gym. He said,
“I’m not going to be that hard on you. Please don’t be that hard on yourself. We all go through challenges, we all go through failure. Sometimes life is a workout. But the key thing is you get up. Just move a little. Roll out of bed and do some pushups or go for a walk. Just do something.”
Apart from helping fans with genuine life advice, the Total Recall star also hasn’t backed away from helping his community and recently decided to fix a pothole in his neighborhood by himself.
