Infinity War Directors Reveal Secret Technique They Used To Write the Entire Thanos Saga

Avengers: Infinity War was one movie that completely changed the tides of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it was the first time that the Avengers had lost. Before that, they would face some form of struggle but would also find a way to overcome that and defeat the antagonist. Whether it is Loki, Ultron, Proxima Midnight, or anyone else, they had always found a way to win.

With so much talent, the Russo brothers have managed to not only bring the Captain America trilogy to life but, also Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. These movies have all been extremely positively received, some more so than others. Bringing ideas like these to life also requires an exceptional mind and techniques that can only help in improving every other idea given to them.

Joe And Anthony Russo’s Mastermind Principle

Anthony and Joe Russo work as a team. The two have always worked well with each other and the projects that they bring to life are some beautiful masterpieces worth admiring. Throughout their experience working together, the Russo brothers have learned to take other people’s opinions into consideration. When the time comes to propose the idea of a script, the two would first create a brief idea, perhaps even three pages long. This idea would be divided into three parts, namely the first act, the second act, and the third act.

“Two minds aren’t doubly better than one, they are exponentially better.”

After proposing the idea to others around them, they would then take into consideration every other individual’s opinion. The Russo brothers would try to understand others’ perspectives as well as their ideas. Working together, the two have understood that a project can become much better with a little contribution from everyone involved. The codified process would then take inspiration from how television series work. This would then be termed by them the Mastermind Principle.

Joe And Anthony Russo Relied On Writers’ Rooms

The Russo brothers understood that things could not go the way one person wants when it is an entire team that will be putting their effort into making a movie. Joe and Anthony Russo took inspiration from how things work in shows and established a writers’ room. They worked with everyone present and tried to take the opinions of everyone they possibly could.

The inclusion of a writers’ room really helped them mix up ideas and jump from one plan to another. It constructed a structure and helped improve their drafted scripts and directional ideas. This process, the Mastermind Principle, is what brought to life masterpieces like Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Avengers: Infinity War.
