Jennifer Aniston starred opposite Jake Gyllenhaal in The Good Girl. The plot of the movie revolves around a married woman Justine, played by Aniston, who falls in love with a young man played by Jake Gyllenhaal. Given the plot, the film naturally demanded some very racy scenes between Aniston and Gyllenhaal. And when one day Pitt suddenly decided to show up at the film’s set in support of his then-wife, the young Gyllenhaal had a very hard time.

“I was working with Jennifer Aniston, who was his wife at the time, and there were a lot of very racy scenes. I remember putting my hand out to shake his, and accidentally hitting the door. He said, so confidently and kindly, ‘Well, you have another one. It’s all right.’ He was very, very, very sweet to me, and it was actually a really lovely exchange. But, yeah—I was starstruck.”

Well, it would be hard not to be starstruck in such a situation. Luckily, Brad Pitt was a complete sport and professional and didn’t think it was necessary to hold a grudge.

Jake Gyllenhaal has starred opposite multiple A-list leading actresses in his career. From action scenes to love scenes, he has done it all. When talking about which of his leading ladies he found the hardest to work with on The Howard Stern Show, the 42-year-old revealed that it was none other than his The Good Girl co-star, Jennifer Aniston.

“Oh yeah, it was torture, yes it was. But it was also not torture. I mean, come on, it was like a mix of both. Weirdly, love scenes are awkward, because there are maybe 30, 50 people watching it? That doesn’t turn me on.”

He explained how the experience was more weird because of his admiration for Aniston. Despite the torture, weirdness, and awkwardness on the set, the movie became a hit among the audience and film critics who quite liked the unusual pairing.
