Now, although another artist might have taken offense for learning apparent scoops about his own marriage from an article online. Ryan Reynolds though, true to his sarcastic nature responded in a manner that ended up charming the fans all over again.

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s decade-long marriage

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively met while filming their 2010 movie Green Lantern. While Reynolds was married to Scarlett Johansson at the time, Lively was involved with Penn Badgley. However, they hit it off right from the start, and after their split from their respective significant others, they started seeing each other seriously.

In fact, their marriage in 2012, actually brought quite a whirlwind of rumors due to some claims of Reynolds cheating on Johansson whom he divorced just the previous year.

However, passing all storms and running through all the rumor mills, the pair are in their 11th year of marriage right now and still going strong. The main reason behind that could be along with being in love, they also think of each other as their best friends. As The Adam Project star noted once,

“Falling in love is great, but do you like each other? That’s kinda the question you gotta ask yourself, you know, going into it. We’ve always liked each other. We grow together. We learn from each other. So yeah, I’m lucky to have a buddy in that.”

They also share four children, James, Inez, Betty, and their newborn whom they welcomed in February this year. As such, the couple who have quite literally been the internet’s favorite #couplegoals for hilariously trolling each other through their social media posts, were not going to take their separation rumors quietly.

Ryan Reynolds’ quirky response to divorce rumors

In 2018, IB Times published an article claiming that Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are apparently struggling to spend “quality time.” They also reported a source’s claim, “The past few years, Ryan’s been working out of town while Blake stays home with the kids. The distance between them has taken its toll.”

Ryan Reynolds, upon coming across that article, though, responded with his true tongue-in-cheek humor saying, “I wish. I could use a little ‘me time.'” However, cutting down the divorce rumors at the nip was not exactly the end of the fiasco.

Shortly after that, Reynolds appeared on the red carpet for A Quiet Place premiere, with Blake Lively and his mother. And while everything seemed terrific between the pair, a headline from a media outlet brought back the rumors to the forefront again.

The headline read, “Ryan Reynolds joins Blake Lively and his mom on the red carpet after shutting down split rumors,” and the Free Guy star of course could not stay quiet.

He responded saying, “We’re never splitting.” And continued with, “She’ll always be my mom. No matter how much jazz-cabbage she smokes with her rollerblading friends.” Obviously, this hilarious response instantly charmed his fans more, not only because of his good humor but also because it showed off his love for his mother.

All in all, it is safe to say, that even after years of marriage, children, work, and other responsibilities, the couple is still thriving in love and laughter together.
