“We’re gonna have 10 years of No Earth”: Zack Snyder’s Justice League 2 Plan Involved Ben Affleck’s Batman in “Mad Max: Road Warrior” Style Post-Apocalyptic Earth

"We're gonna have 10 years of No Earth": Zack Snyder's Justice League 2 Plan Involved Ben Affleck's Batman in "Mad Max: Road Warrior" Style Post-Apocalyptic Earth

Zack Snyder had been dedicated to his entire DC Universe arc. The story that he brought to life was unanimously liked. While the journey had been a lengthy one, starting with Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel in 2013, it ended abruptly. Snyder’s Justice League became one of the most demanded movies, forcing the director to finally release his version of the movie that was otherwise highly thrashed upon.

Although the demand to see his story continue is still ongoing, the director has officially stepped away from the franchise once and for all. Fans kept wishing that Netflix ends up buying the Snyderverse and that the journey created by the director does not find an end so soon. Seemingly, he too had a lot planned if there was ever to be a future for the series.

Zack Snyder Was Ready For A Decade Of Batman Figuring Stuff Out

Zack Snyder talked about how if he would have been able to continue the story after Zack Snyder’s Justice League, he would have liked to focus on Ben Affleck’s Batman. He explained that when Darkseid would take over and destroy the Earth, there would be a big gap where there would be no planet Earth. This gap was one that the director wanted to cover with Batman’s story.

“I was really adamant about the post-apocalyptic and any of that stuff,” he continued. “And Darkseid destroys Earth. We’re going to have ten years of no Earth. So we should figure out what Batman’s doing in a rogue warrior Earth. Like what is Batman in the Rogue Wars.”

The question of what Batman would be doing when there is no planet to protect and how he came to the particular point that the Knightmare arc shows in the post-credit scene. The director wanted to put in a time skip that would show just how life changed for the people and how those who barely managed to survive, somehow did.

Storyboards For The Justice League Movies Keep Coming

Despite James Gunn stepping in as CEO of the DC Universe, fans have still been waiting for perhaps some day Netflix or any other company to buy the Snyderverse and somehow continue its story. Zack Snyder is no longer a part of the franchise and there is no remaining trace of his creation either. However, he has always had his creative juices flowing.

He admitted some time back that new storyboards were always being created despite there not being a big chance of the franchise continuing them. Initially, the plan had been to have a 5-year gap after Darkseid destroys the planet, but that was then changed to a decade. This only proved that his mind has not yet stopped working on ideas no matter what.
