Fresh out of a divorce, the hatred for an ex-lover is justified. The marriage of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman lasted almost 12 years when they divorced in 2001. Soon after, Kidman went on to interviews for her side of the story, and the big question that everyone needed to answer was “Why?”.
Although it is her personal life, the Moulin Rouge actress did not shy away from savagely roasting Tom Cruise on one of his top insecurities. Being an actor with a height of 5’7, Tom Cruise has been allegedly insecure about his height. Nicole Kidman appeared in 2001 on The David Letterman Show for an interview and when the topic of her divorce came up, Kidman let her intrusive thoughts win.
When asked about her divorce from Cruise, the actress simply smiled at the camera and savagely stated, “Well, I can wear heels now”. The raucous laughter from the audience can be seen in the clip which has now been limited on the internet. The jab was the point of discussion for the freshly-divorced couple and even made it into the headlines of several magazines and in the media.
Nicole Kidman Stars In The Perfect Couple
After her divorce, Nicole Kidman married Keith Urban in 2006. Being happily married and with a Hollywood career right on track, the actress has been confirmed to star in the upcoming series The Perfect Couple. Based on Elin Hilderbrand’s novel of the same name, Netflix is picking up the project and has cast Kidman in a significant role.
Based on a dead body getting discovered right before a wedding, the TV Mini-Series will act as a murder mystery starring Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Eve Hewson, and, Dakota Fanning. The series is currently in development but fans are already quite excited for Kidman’s return to a unique series.
