Relationships can be somewhat challenging if not handled carefully in the early stages. That is exactly what happened between seasoned actors, Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock, years before they finally got together for Marc Lawrence’s film in 2002.

Since the two of them starred in the 2002 hit movie, Two Weeks Notice, Grant, and Bullock have been incredible friends. But, wait, there was a famous rumor that the two had already met five years before their first joint shoot.

And this was when the Notting Hill actor told a ‘disgusting’ tale to Bullock that made her so pissed off that the actress just walked away and did not speak to him for three years!

Well, even though there were conflicting reviews, the movie did well at the box office.

It is uncommon for celebrities in the glitzy world of Hollywood to talk about their embarrassing or awkward encounters. But every so often, a fascinating tale about two celebrities sharing a distressing incident that fosters both laughter and real human connection comes to light. 

One such incident involved the charming Hugh Grant and the talented actress-producer, Sandra Bullock. Their first encounter was so embarrassing that it caused their friendship to suffer for a while.

Grant once recalled his first encounter with Bullock in an interview conducted following their 2002 film’s release.

After the actor allegedly told her a story that was so disgusting, The Lost City actress reportedly got up and left. The actor further claimed that she did not speak to him for three years, but he did not go into details about the incident. The 62-year-old actor recalled:

“We first met up about five years ago and had what Hollywood calls ‘a relationship meeting,’ where you talk about the possibility of working together. I told Sandy a very disgusting story, which I think revolted her, she left the room, and I didn’t hear from her for three years after that.”

Forgiveness and Reconciliation

Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock quickly grew close friends while working on Marc Lawrence’s movie, Two Weeks Notice, despite the fact that their relationship had a rocky beginning. They were so at ease with each other that the actress was said to have even played a few practical jokes on her co-star.

The Wonka actor told the BBC in 2003:

“We’d been dying to do something for ages, filmmaking-wise that is, I had been watching Sandy for years and thinking, ‘That’s the girl I should be doing films with.’”

Well, they worked together for the first time in Two Weeks Notice, and by the time the movie was released, they were friends. 

The Gentlemen actor told the U.K. newspaper Express:

“We got on extremely well. Even too well.” 

He continued by saying that the crew became frustrated with them because they were “laughing so much” while filming the movie. 

“She has that effect on me, that sort of friend one had at school with whom, you can’t look them in the eye because it makes you laugh.”

In fact, their on-screen chemistry was incredible and it worked well enough to make their film successful at the box office.

Thus, fans are hoping to see the two share the screen once again, even though they have not had the opportunity to work together again yet.
