Daniel Radcliffe has gained international acclaim with his portrayal of the titular character in the Harry Potter series. From devoting his childhood to graduating as an adult, the Warner Bros series changed his life in several ways. After gaining experience and a strong fandom, he chose to further explore the entertainment industry.
After leaving his Harry Potter brood after the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, he did not work with his co-star, Rupert Grint. Here’s the reason why!
Daniel Radcliffe Revealed Why He Did Not Work With Rupert Grint
The famous Harry Potter trio is comprised of Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), Ronald Weasley(Rupert Grint), and Hermione Granger(Emma Watson). They went through an ebb and flow throughout the entire 8-volume series which made them best buddies. One cannot deny the fact that they are somewhat responsible for making the series get global recognition.
While their reel-life relationship was quite strong, their real-life relationship didn’t change much but got affected after they separated. After the immense success of their final installment in the Harry Potter series, Radcliffe opened up about working with his co-star, Rupert Grint once again.
After the massive hit of Volume 8 Pt 2, The Lost City actor was asked about collaborating again with The ABC Murders star.
He told Whats on Stage,
“We’d be silly to do it any time soon, we’re both forging our own paths at the moment. I think at the moment were we to work together it would become about that, about those people [Harry Potter characters] being reunited, rather than about the show.”
Though he was ready to work with him again, he also considered the fact that they had to carve their own paths before reuniting again on some project.
Are They Good Friends in Real Life?
Despite the actors not getting reunited for another project, they have developed a long-lasting brotherhood due to their work in the Warner Bros’ hit project. They chose different mediums to showcase their acting talent which drastically affected their interaction which is why they don’t talk much to each other.
In an interview with Mirror, the Kill Your Darlings actor shared,
“I’m just going to put out there, Emma and I text all the time but Rupert and I never text each other, we never see each other.”
However, he later confirmed that his interaction with Grint via text rarely happens because the duo is not a fan of texting. They were last seen in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 which grossed over $1.3 billion worldwide.
