Despite her hectic schedule, Jennifer Lawrence makes sure she gets to watch an episode or two of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The Hunger Games star loves the reality TV show from the bottom of her heart, although she admits not being a fan of Teddi Mellencamp.
Mellencamp joined the show in Season 8 and instantly became friends with original cast Kyle Richards. After a few encounters, the daughter of singer John Mellencamp got on the Pretty Mess author Erika Jayne’s nerves. Chaos was unveiled and confrontations happened, leaving Mellencamp terrified.
Jennifer Lawrence Proclaims Herself ‘Producer’ Of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
Jennifer Lawrence confessed her obsession with the Bravo franchise and even claimed on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon that she is sort of a producer (via E! News):
“I’m obsessed… Bravo is on in my household 24/7. I am a… I guess, kind of a producer of all of the Real Housewives. Andy Cohen and I… I would call us colleagues. I get really passionate, and I give him a lot of advice.”
The host revealed he gave Cohen some notes, too, and Lawrence responded:
“Do you text him? Do you make a difference in the show like me? One of the stars’ fate is kind of in my kinds, so… not to brag.”
Fallon asked the American Hustle star if she is a fan of Teddi Mellencamp. She answered:
“No, as a person, I think she’s great. She seems very grounded but not exciting enough for the show. We need someone more diabolical. I told you that.”
From Lawrence’s statement, it suggests that the actress might have given Cohen some notes about Mellencamp, as the latter posted an Instagram announcement about her departure from the show after three seasons:
“I don’t want to bore you, but I’d figure I could give you a little update on what’s going on. Recently found out that my contract as a housewife is not being renewed.”
The Real Housewives star being fired from the series resulted in the confession of some cast and crew about her being too “boring and stale.” Later on, she expressed her disappointment in her podcast, Teddi Tea Pod:
“All the things that make me a likable, redeeming human being were not shown on the season. So, if you only see a certain part of somebody, it’s really hard to connect to them.”
Lawrence proved to hold so much influence on the reality TV show that she was able to predict Mellencamp’s future as well as the insights of her co-stars in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
Jennifer Lawrence Religiously Follows Every Scene In The Franchise
The Red Sparrow actress confessed to watching every iteration of the series. Her investment in the show as a fan and a so-called producer went from having fun playing games with friends to actually calling Cohen when a tricky situation arises:
“With Beverly Hills, my friends and I have a drinking game any time Lisa Rinna says her husband’s full name: Harry Hamlin. She always goes, ‘Harry Hamlin’s on his way!’ So, we have a drinking game for that.”
When Luann de Lesseps announced her divorce from Tom D’Agostino, Lawrence was in disbelief:
“I was horrified and shocked my stomach dropped because I realized that I had just seen the reunion, which means they aren’t filming. I texted Andy, and I was like, ‘Get a camera in [Ramona Singer]’s face right now!’”
Jennifer Lawrence joked in the end that it was difficult to express herself in terms of producing because she isn’t an actual producer. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is available to stream on NBC, Netflix, and AppleTV.
