Chris Evans and Ana de Armas have starred together in 3 projects till now. One is in 2019’s Knives Out, then again in 2022’s The Gray Man, and lastly in the new Apple TV+ film Ghosted. In each project, their relationship has been different. But which film did they like the most?
The two actors expressed that their newest film is the one that impressed them the most because it allowed them to keep evolving their relationship. After all, the duo has always been in an adversarial position against each other in the previous films. But not in this one.
Chris Evans And Ana De Armas Reveal Their Love For Ghosted
During the Wired Auto Complete interview, Chris Evans and Ana de Armas spilled why they loved working on Ghosted more than Knives Out or The Gray Man. Evans said:
“In Ghosted we actually get to like each other. In films we have done, we are very adversarial, in this movie we get to enjoy each other’s company. Well, it’s kind of like a like-hate-like thing again.”
Armas also backed up Evans’ point of view and explained that even their real-life relationship has evolved side-by-side with the film. She said, “I think in real life our relationship has evolved. Here we get to finally have a good time together. Not trying to kill each other. Not hating each other. We kiss.” But this isn’t the only time the two actors have expressed their love for their constantly evolving on-screen relationship.
Chris Evans And Ana de Armas Enjoyed Portraying A Skewed Dynamic In Ghosted
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ana de Armas elaborated on what made Ghosted different from other films. The Blonde actress said that she wanted to do the movie because it allowed her to share a never-before-seen onscreen friendly and romantic relationship with Chris Evans. Armas said, “That kind of dynamic, we’ve never had on the screen and I wanted to enjoy that with Chris, not only in real life but also on film.”
The actress also said that both of them “genuinely liked each other and we’re just very easygoing people, both of us, and we’re just very transparent.” So they didn’t have to work hard to show that relationship on screen. In a People magazine interview, the actress said that Ghosted also allowed her to explore an unexpected dynamic with Evans since he isn’t the one in power. She said:
“I thought it was very refreshing and new and unexpected for people to see Chris in this position of not being the one in control and strong and saving the day. For me, it was a lot of fun — a lot of work and a lot to do, but it was really cool.”
The former Captain America actor agreed with his co-star and said, “In Knives Out we’re obviously adversarial. In the second film, Gray Man, we didn’t have anything together, so this was fun to actually get to have some repartee and explore that type of movie.” The film has received rave reviews and plenty of fans as well as critics have praised the chemistry between the two.
Ghosted is streaming on Apple TV+.
