Kathleen Kennedy bids Indiana Jones adieu

While speaking to Dagobah Dispatch podcast, the Lucasfilm president and Dial of Destiny producer Kathleen Kennedy said, this upcoming movie will mark the end of the iconic character loved by millions across the globe, Indiana Jones played by Harrison Ford. Although she has confirmed that there are plans to move the series ahead into different forms much like the Star Wars saga, she believes the Indy world also has much to offer in terms of content. Thus, although this would bid the legendary role goodbye, Kathleen Kennedy say it will also welcome a new set of opportunities for the lovers of this ‘Indy’ world. She said,

“It’s Harrison’s last entry. That’s how we look at the Indy franchise—I mean, truthfully, right now, if we were to do anything, it might be in series television down the road, but we’re not doing anything to replace Indiana Jones. This is it–There are five movies that Harrison Ford did. And Harrison is so specific and so unique to creating this role. We just, Steven [Spielberg] agrees, we just wouldn’t do that.”

“I had been ambitious to do this film for 10 years, and there finally came a time when we all committed to that. It was a joyous moment for me.
