Cillian Murphy Distracted Matt Damon And Emily Blunt While Filming Oppenheimer With His Most Noticeable Feature That Landed Him The Lead Role

Peaky Blinder became one of the best TV series of all time with special thanks to Cillian Murphy’s gripping performance and roguish boyish look in the show, among others. Apart from being one of the best actors in Hollywood, he is also famous for his handsome features that set him apart from everyone else, especially his intense ocean-blue eyes. And that also seems to be why he bagged the lead role in Oppenheimer.

If there’s one thing that makes Cillian Murphy stand out the most, it’s most certainly his ocean-blue eyes. Just like the color, his eyes seem deep like the ocean every time he looks on with his intense gaze, making it more than enough to have people getting lost in them. And his piercing stare didn’t spare his Oppenheimer co-stars either.

In a recent interview, both Matt Damon and Emily Blunt agreed on how distracted and mesmerized they were by Murphy’s eyes the entire time that they were on the sets filming. Calling it ‘a real problem’, Damon said,

“It’s a real problem when you’re doing scene work with Cillian. Sometimes you find yourself just swimming in his eyes.”

Continuing with this confession, Blunt too went ahead to compliment the Peaky Blinder star’s beautiful eyes, saying,

“It’s like that ‘Ocean Eyes’ song by Billie Eilish. We just hum it all day.”

But Damon and Blunt weren’t the only ones on sets who found Cillian Murphy’s eyes rather extraordinary, for the film’s director Christopher Nolan too seems to have cast the Oscar nominee in the lead role because of his brilliant blue eyes.

Although Oppenheimer is his sixth collaboration for a movie with the director, Cillian Murphy is starring in the lead role for the first time in a Chris Nolan project. And the filmmaker claims it’s all because of his intensely deep gaze.

While sharing how he came across the Peaky Blinder star in the first place from where his collaboration with Murphy began all because of his ‘crazy eyes’, Nolan revealed he cast Murphy for the main lead’s character because of his eyes, saying,

“I’ve been staring at the cover of the book ‘American Prometheus’ for so many months, and there’s this photograph, black and white, a light blue-eyed stare, very intense, of this guy. And I thought, ‘Well, I know who could do that.'”

Cillian Murphy portrays the male protagonist in the movie, J. Robert Oppenheimer, while Emily Blunt is cast as his wife, Katherine ‘Kitty’ Oppenheimer, and Matt Damon is seen starring as General Leslie Groves, an important player from the Manhattan Project.
