Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star Jonathan Majors has landed into deep legal trouble since his arrest for an alleged assault on a woman. As per reports, Majors was arrested in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan on March 25. The actor was charged with strangulation, assault, and harassment of a 30-year-old woman. This has led to major repercussions based on the allegation and the ongoing court case.
The Creed 3 star is represented by his attorney Priya Chaudhry, who is doing everything possible to prove his innocence. The attorney has recently released a statement about having enough proof to refute the allegations against Majors.
Jonathan Majors’ lawyer makes a statement
Jonathan Majors’ attorney Priya Chaudhry has been firmly standing alongside the actor to prove his innocence. When the allegation of assault was put on the actor, she shared,
“Jonathan Majors is probably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows.”
She also suggested that the woman was probably having an emotional crisis and that the allegations are not true.
Ahead of Majors’ appearance in the court on May 8, Chaudhry made another statement, saying,
“Jonathan Majors is innocent and has not abused anyone. We have provided irrefutable evidence to the District Attorney that the charges are false. We are confident that he will be fully exonerated.”
Texts released by his defense team, purportedly from the woman he had the alleged altercation with, reveal that she has taken the blame for the fight. However, she has not addressed the incident herself.
Jonathan Majors’ growing troubles
Avengers star Jonathan Majors is currently preparing for his court appearance on May 8 regarding the domestic violence charges. However, the problems are only mounting for the actor as his PR and talent manager have cut ties with him amid the ongoing investigation. As per reports, some other women have also come forward as alleged abuse victims of Majors after his arrest news in March. The prospect of allegations by more women can put the actor in a bad light and make his chances of winning the case bleaker.
Jonathan Majors’ career has suffered a setback since the allegation incident. Earlier, he was ousted from the US Army recruitment ads and now the actor had been dropped from Protagonist Pictures’ movie adaptation of the Walter Mosley novel, The Man in My Basement. Among other projects withdrawn from Majors is an unannounced Fifth Season’s Otis Redding biopic, for which his name was considered.
Amid the turmoil of the Loki actor, he is still the main villain in the upcoming projects of MCU, which include 2025’s Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and 2026’s Avengers: Secret Wars. He will also be seen as Kang the Conqueror in Disney+’s Loki season 2.
Majors will also work with Spike Lee on Amazon Studios’ Da Understudy, as well as the Lionsgate movie, 48 Hours in Vegas.
