Netflix’s One Piece Live Action series was released on 31st August 2023. Within a week, it has shattered many records. But the most crucial accolade they got was escaping from the live-action anime adaptation. The live-action anime adaptation has been a curse and has ruined several shows previously. It has paved a new path for the anime adaptation world.

One of the main reasons this live-action is better than the others is that Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, was one of the prominent members behind the camera. The whole casting was done inch perfectly, and they fulfilled every wish. The fans loved the show, but they were not satisfied. They want more in the form of season 2.

One Piece Live Action did brilliantly. It ranked number 1 in 84 countries in the first few days on Netflix. Not only anime lovers but non-lovers also tried it and loved the show’s uniqueness. It was Netflix’s top show after the first few days of its release. To be fair, it has exceeded everybody’s expectations. These are Becky Clements’ words. One Piece Live Action has performed well compared to the typical Netflix shows. There are instances where Netflix has canceled shows for far worse reasons. Even though One Piece Live Action has come down from Netflix’s top 10 series, the budget spent for the show has been justified.

When Will One Piece Live Action Season 2 Come Out?

One Piece Live Action just finished its first season. They got a good response from the fans. Even though Netflix has not yet renewed the show for a second season, Becky Clements is confident that it will happen soon. During her interview with Variety, she was unequivocal about her intentions.

She said,” Realistically, hopefully, a year away, if we move very quickly, and that is a possibility. We could be ready for air somewhere between a year and 18 months.” CEO of Tomorrow Studios, Marty Aldstein, said, “We’ve got scripts ready.”

Becky Clements continued, via Variety,

“They keep it, as you know, close to the vest until post-launch. But with Netflix’s support of the title, we expected it to be number one, and we sensed their research and algorithms probably saw the possibility for that. But in our subsequent calls post-launch, we have been told that we have exceeded expectations, which is also fantastic.”

When Will One Piece Live Action Season 2 Come Out?

By the looks of it, the Live Action will still need some time from Netflix, albeit Becky Clements claims that Netflix is happy with the response. If the production starts, it won’t be more than 12 to 18 months before we get to join the Straw Hats once again. Fans are eagerly waiting for season 2. They need to keep an eye on Netflix to know officially whether One Piece Live Action is renewed for a second season or not.
