Emma Watson Recalls Her Worst Memory From The Harry Potter Franchise
With a decade in the making, the trio of Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and, Emma Watson have shared immeasurable memories with each other. From childhood crushes to awkward kisses, the trio grew up together on the sets of the Harry Potter franchise.
As much as there have been good memories, the trio has had their fair share of bad memories while shooting the movies. In an interview, Emma Watson revealed that her worst memory while shooting was in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. The actress recalled the scene where the trio escapes from Gringotts’ Bank by hopping onto a dragon and setting it free. The scene later cuts to Harry, Ron, and, Hermione jumping into a lake before the dragon notices their presence. Well, turns out that they were shooting the scene in the cold of January, and the lake…was freezing.
“I can tell you the worst right now, It was on movie #2, we get dropped by a dragon into the lake, and I think it was January or February. The lake wasn’t heated, and because we had to get changed as part of the next scene, we couldn’t wear anything underneath. I was lucky. I had my bottom half with some thermals on, but I was like, ‘This must be a joke.’ It was so cold.”
Watson considered herself lucky that she had some thermals with her bottom half but Ruper Grint didn’t have much luck. The actress further continued that the filming was so intense that Grint thought that he would die!
When Rupert Grint Thought That He Was Going To Die
Jumping alongside Emma Watson in the cold January lake were Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe. The duo had to change afterwards and thus, had to get naked down to their shorts in all that cold. Emma Watson recalled that there was a moment when Rupert Grint (who portrayed Ron Weasley) thought he was going to die!
“I think Rupert thought at one point that his heart had stopped beating. I hate being cold more than anything, so that was my most memorable day. I was like, ‘I can’t wait for this to be over!’”
The scene did end and the trio breathed a sigh of relief realizing they won’t have to jump in that lake again. The Harry Potter franchise became one of the most famous franchises out there with a global box office collection of $7.7 billion from eight films. The Harry Potter franchise is available to stream on Max in the U.S.
