One of the highly anticipated DCEU movies, The Flash has received mixed reviews from various rating sites. Starting off with a great score (around 98%) on Rotten Tomatoes, the movie now sits at a 66% rating on the famous website. And after looking at the movie’s reviews, fans couldn’t help but compare the ratings of The Flash with the previous DCEU movie Black Adam. Having received a score of just 38% on Rotten Tomatoes, Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam did not exactly sit well with the critics.
With a B+ rating by CinemaScore, the movie was tagged as the third worst DC Universe film after Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice and the 2016 Suicide Squad. However, it seems that The Flash is swiftly making its way ahead of Black Adam to secure the third-worst DCEU movie position – at least according to CinemaScore.
The Flash gets a lower CinemaScore rating than Black Adam
Based on movie research and audience opinions, CinemaScore usually bases its ratings on ballots by moviegoers. And over the years, the site has earned respect from famous news organizations like New York Times, Holywood Reporter, as well as the Wall Street Journal.
Hence, the ratings shared by the website hold significant value for movie fanatics who recently realized that the 2023 DCEU movie The Flash scored a lower rating than Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam. Having received a B rating, it seems that the Rock has toppled The Flash.
However, arguing that had things gone a different way, the movie would have received rave reviews. Referring to the film’s climax, many fans blamed the movie’s director James Gunn for tampering with the original comic book ending, upsetting a lot of dedicated fans.

DCEU fans blame James Gunn for the bad reviews
While many fans decided to boycott the recently released Flash movie due to the controversies surrounding the lead actor Ezra Miller, the ones who watched blamed director James Gunn for the lower ratings.
Expressing their dissatisfaction with the climax. a few wrote on Twitter,
Although most fans enjoyed the phenomenal performances and humorous tropes in the movie, the ratings indicate that The Flash did not live up to the expectations of many. However, irrespective of the criticisms, many Twitter users suggested giving the movie at least one shot owing to the entertainment value it has to offer.
