Well, it seems that Idris Elba does have his fair share of haters. Talking about the new generation of the Star Wars franchise, fans are quite against the actor for him to portray a role in the upcoming Daisy Ridley’s Rey Skywalker sequel.
With rumors that the actor will star alongside Daisy Ridley in her upcoming sequel, fans took to Twitter that Elba would not be a suitable role. The project is slated to be a direct sequel to the 2019 movie Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Idris Elba found himself on the other side of praise ever since it was rumored that the Luther actor would be starring in a prominent role in the upcoming Star Wars series. It is rumored that Elba is alleged to play the role of a villain.
As per several sources, the upcoming feature will feature Daisy Ridley in her iconic role of Rey Skywalker. This also included the fact that Idris Elba will be portraying the role of the villain and the events of the project will be set after the events of the 2019 movie Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
And this was enough for the people to start commenting and hating the decision. The fans even went as far as to claim that the project will be a disaster if Idris Elba gets cast in the role.
Idris Elba has had no comments so far regarding the conversation. The actor has also other projects to his name since he will be appearing alongside Chris Hemsworth in Netflix’s upcoming magnum opus Extraction 2.

Talking about upcoming projects, Elba is quite a busy little bee since he has multiple projects that need his attention. The actor will allegedly be seen in Netflix’s upcoming Extraction 2 which will star Chris Hemsworth in the lead role once again.
Apple TV+ also recently launched the teaser trailer for their upcoming series titled Hijack. The mini-series will follow Idris Elba as a flight gets hijacked by a terrorist cell. Elba portrays the role of a negotiator and unfortunately, time is not on his side. Hijack is slated to premiere on Apple TV+ on 28th June across the U.S.
