Jennifer Lopez found her cinema-style ending to the true love of her life when she married Ben Affleck after their breakup almost 20 years ago. Both Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez had moved on to other relationships, with Affleck dating and then marrying his Pearl Harbour co-star, Jennifer Garner, while Lopez married Marc Anthony. After years spent apart, the actors got back together, sealing their love in matrimony.
Interestingly, Lopez released a song titled This is Me… Now, reminiscent of her 2002 song This is Me… Then, which she wrote when she first met the Batman v Superman actor. In her interview with Apple Music for the song promotion, The Mother actress talked about her love life.

Jennifer Lopez Opened Up About Her Heart-Wrenching Break Up
Jennifer Lopez was deeply upset about how things abruptly ended between the couple back in the day, especially since the Gigli actress had decided to walk down the aisle with the Good Will Hunting actor. Lopez shares:
“It was so painful after we broke up. Once we called off that wedding 20 years ago, it was the biggest heartbreak of my life, and I honestly felt like I was going to die.”
Though the Selena actress said she was happy for Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner back then, when asked about Affleck’s marriage and family in an interview, the Parker actress, in reality, was very upset. Lopez told the interviewer that though she was happy for them and there were no hard feelings, the interviewer’s question depressed her.
The Break-Up With Jennifer Lopez Did Not Go Well For Ben Affleck Either
On the Howard Stern Show, Ben Affleck did not mention his earlier break-up with Jennifer Lopez but opened up about his failed marriage with Jennifer Garner. The Air actor said he tried to stay in the marriage for their kids:
“It’s part of why I started drinking…because I was trapped. I was like, ‘I can’t leave because of my kids, but I’m not happy, what do I do?’ And what I did was drink a bottle of Scotch and fall asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution.”
Rumors floated around that the Enough actress was not happy with Affleck’s remarks on Garner. Lopez didn’t want to be dragged into the mess as she was dating the Justice League actor at the time. The Wedding Planner actress later debunked such rumors as baseless.
Now, with the marriage, Lopez is happy to be part of the extended family where she’s there for Ben Affleck’s three kids with Jennifer Garner, and Affleck is supporting her in raising her twins with Marc Anthony. They have become one big, happy family.
