Daredevil has won many hearts within the three seasons that it aired on Netflix eight years ago as it brought into light several superheroes fans thought they’d never see. With its success being so huge that it even spawned a spin-off series, The Punisher, the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen will be coming back to the streaming screens with the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again.
However, while fans are excited about it, they are also rather distraught and worried as Disney had taken over last year and judging from its notoriety of toning down the gory, grit, and mature and adult themes of the content, fans are afraid the upcoming Daredevil show will face the same fate. But it seems that fans might be in for a treat, as a new yet highly terrifying villain might be starring in the streaming series.
Charlie Cox’s Daredevil May Face A Terrifying Serial Killer In Daredevil: Born Again
For fans who are worried that Disney will tone down the naturally dark theme of the infamously devilish comic book character series, it might not end up going that way, as per recent reports. As claimed by a reputable insider, Charlie Cox may be facing a supernaturally-inclined terrifying serial killer in the upcoming story named Muse.
Another possibly-known detail about Daredevil: Born Again is that a recent plot from the comic books, where Wilson Fisk becomes mayor of his city, is set to be incorporated into the upcoming series. This further suggests the inception of the nightmarish character because Muse’s timeline follows up later in the same arc. However, nothing is official as of yet.
But that raises another question for the fans who aren’t much familiar with the comics – who is this Muse? And just how deadly and terrifying is he? Don’t worry, we got you covered.
Who is Muse – The Serial Killer that Has Got Daredevil Fans Excited?
According to the comics, Muse is one of the most distinctive antagonists in all of Marvel’s history. A dark and mystical human being, he is an artist who leads Daredevil and Blindspot to his artwork display at an abandoned warehouse. But how is an artist supposed to be terrifying, you ask? That’s because he doesn’t paint with colors and brushes. But rather, with blood.
Muse is painted as the supernaturally-inclined villain whose first piece of art was made from the blood of over 100 people who went missing at the time. He moves on to capture Inhumans along with a judge, a member of the council, and two police officers for his next project, further proving his insanity.
When he gets caught funneling the blood of the hostages he kidnapped, the cops take off his mask to reveal his face, and the nightmarish sight still remains with the comic book readers – a bald man with abyss-like black-colored eyes with bloodshot pupils that is enough to leave even the worst supervillain terrified. Although he is said to take his own life by the end of the story, fans will just have to wait for the series to find out what actually happens to him.
While Marvel and Disney might not portray the character in the same baddie aura that he is painted in the books, Muse is literally their only shot at making the already reviewed as ‘not good enough’ series worth watching and keeping the infamous devilish character along with Kevin Feige‘s crumbling MCU franchise alive.
Marvel Studios’ Daredevil: Born Again is set to hit the streaming giant Disney+ by Spring 2024.
