Amongst all the studios, WB-Discovery seems to be one of the few going through a rough time. Its main property, the DC comics has not paid off to the extent the studio wanted it to. Many productions have been canceled due to the loss of faith due to results.
With the cancelation of the Snyderverse hitting the hardest, fans were still baffled when the well-anticipated Batgirl was canceled. The studio has ever more as many of its important castings have landed in the controversial territory including Ezra Miller, Amber Heard, and Jared Leto.

After the CEO of WarnerMedia Ann Sarnoff departed the media giant, David Zaslav came in to replace her as the CEO of WB-Discovery and started laying off employees in a frenzy. HBO and HBO Max lost 70 of their own, almost 14% of their staff.

The OWN gets hit by the firing spree.
The Oprah Winfrey Network is one of the most popular talks shows out there. Hosted by Oprah Winfrey, the talk show’s main audience is the African American population. A report by variety suggests OWN will be losing some very experienced executives due to the WB-Discovery layoffs.
These executives include Jennifer Giddens (Head of Marketing) who previously was heavily involved in Universal Kids and Netflix’s kids and since 2013, Head of Programming Mary Beth Cunin who was previously the senior vice president of programming, strategy, and acquisitions at CMT.
