The series is set to follow the story of Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) after the events of Avengers: Endgame. In the first trailer released back in September, WandaVision set its precedent as a wacky and interesting premise that hides a much sinister reality. Also starring in the upcoming show are Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Randall Park as Jimmy Woo, and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. Veteran actors Fred Melamed and That ’70s Show star Debra Jo Rupp are also starring in limited roles in WandaVision.

Interestingly, WandaVision was not the first show that was planned to release as per Marvel Studios’ slate for Phase Four. But the ongoing pandemic slightly altered the plans and bumped up WandaVision‘s release, prior to The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Various re-shoots and filming has pushed back the release date for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier starring Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Daniel Bruhl, Emily VanCamp, and Wyatt Russell.

Following the plot of Avengers: Endgame where Scarlet Witch returned after the second snap, the series is rumored to be loosely based on the plot of the acclaimed House of M storyline. This mind-boggling, reality-altering, and absolutely wacky show is set to be based on different eras of sitcoms where Wanda and Vision live as a happy couple. But in reality, everything might have been conjured by Wanda for emotional closure.
