Zachary Levi’s Shazam! Fury of the Gods turned out to be a box office bomb. The numbers had been shockingly low after the first movie had done so well. The sequel became an underwhelming experience that no one was very fond of. The reviews proved to be another reason why fans did not find themselves attracted to the movie. Despite all the hype that the sequel had initially created, it all died almost immediately when the movie was released.
The expectations that the movie had set were all shattered and the characters’ futures became blurry within the DC Universe. However, a piece of even more upsetting news surfaced that Shazam! Fury of the Gods could not surpass Morbius.
Zachary Levi’s Shazam! Fury of the Gods Disappointed DC Fans Heavily
Shazam! Fury of the Gods had a decent reputation to live up to after the first movie became liked a lot amongst DC fans. Fans of Zachary Levi and the hero were all mesmerized by how well the first movie turned out to be, earning far more than what its budget and predicted earnings had been. The sequel was far from what fans had expected. The box office earnings were much lower than what the budget was and what the predictions were.
It was heavily disliked with fans claiming that the entire movie was revealed in the trailer itself. This also included Gal Gadot’s cameo as Wonder Woman. The hype that was initially there was all gone by the time the movie came out because the story was already out there for the world to see. Surprisingly enough, the competition for the movie happened to be none other than Morbius. The comparison may have come out of nowhere but, Jared Leto’s movie is highly looked down upon with it being an epic flop.

Fans Congratulate Morbius After Shazam 2 Could Not Surpass It
Morbius was one movie that was a widely known disappointment amongst fans of Spider-Man and his villains. The movie very quickly got reduced to memes and the term ‘”it’s morbin’ time” was trending like a fire in a forest. The movie became a catastrophic loss and it became obvious that no sequel would be coming out after how badly it underperformed.
Seeing how Shazam! Fury of the Gods could not even break Leto’s movie’s earnings may have been a shocker at first. However, the response initially and even now proves that Zachary Levi’s future in the DCU is looking very slim. Fans are somehow celebrating this soft and rare win for Morbius while acknowledging how risky of a gamble it was to even release the movie when the franchise itself was going through several changes.
