On the Red Table Talk Show, Jada Pinkett Smith’s mother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris, revealed that she missed not sharing a closer bond with her mother and then not nurturing her daughter when she was a kid, saying, “One of the things that was so missing in my relationship with my mother and with Jada was just touch.” She added that there wasn’t any physical affection between them,
“Very rarely will you see Jada and I even touch, hug.”
Banfield-Norris continued, “It’s awkward because we didn’t hug in our family. We knew we were loved, but it just wasn’t that kind of nurturing touch,” to this, Jada Pinkett Smith told her daughter, who was part of their discussion, “She never cuddled with me.”
Her mother further shared that she regrets not hugging or cuddling her daughter, but she is happy she has done that with Smith’s daughter Willow Smith,
“It felt so good to be able to have that, and I never had it. When I had it with you, then I missed it with Jada. I realized how much I miss with her.”
