"Ugh, F*cking kill me": After Cheating on Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart Used the Painful Experience For One of Her Movies

The Twilight movies have a separate fan base in the entertainment industry. Either people really love watching the films, or they do it ironically. Whatever may be the reason, there is no way we can deny the popularity of the franchise. One aspect of the reel life flowed into real life as well when Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart began dating in real life.

Kristen Stewart starred in the 2015 Sci-Fi movie, Equals, which is directed by Drake Doremus. Although the film didn’t find itself on the receiving end of many positive reviews, it sure helped Stewart deal with her breakup with Robert Pattinson. Talking to The Daily Beast in 2015 she stated how “incredibly painful” the experience was for her. What did help was the fact that her co-star, Nicholas Hoult, was also dealing with a major breakup. For context, Hoult was in a relationship with Jennifer Lawrence and the pair broke up in 2014.

“It was incredibly painful. Ugh, f*cking kill me. It was a really good time for both of us to make this movie. Not all of my friends have been through what I’ve been through, or what some people have tasted at a, relatively-speaking, young age, and we were not expected to do anything. Everything that we did was explorative, and a meditation on what we already knew.”

She also stated that there was an undeniable silver lining to the whole ordeal in how she got to use the breakup for something good. Stewart continued,

“We all felt akin by how much we’ve been through, and to utilize that is so scary. And to acknowledge it, reassess, and jump back into it? Usually you want to move on. But at least we could use some of that for some good. This movie was a meditation on firsts, and a meditation on maintaining, and a meditation on the ebbs and flows of what it’s like to love someone—your feelings versus your ideals, the bursting of bubbles, the shattering of dreams you thought were possible, and what you have to contend with as things get more realistic. Relationships, you just never f*cking know.”

Breakups aren’t always easy and at times can get really messy! But hey, at least Stewart got to put the terrible experience to some use.

Now that we have heard how Stewart dealt with the breakup, it’s only fair we take a look over at Pattinson’s side as well. Talking to Esquire, The Batman actor appeared to be way more chilled out than his ex-girlfriend. He stated, “Sh*t happens, you know. It’s just young people, it’s normal! And honestly, who gives a sh*t?”

While talking about how words how the “hardest part was talking about it afterwards”, Pattinson compared the situation to a scene from the 2008 movie, Doubt.

“It’s like that scene in Doubt, where he’s talking about how to take back gossip? They throw all those feathers from a pillow into the sky and you’ve got to go and collect the feathers.”

Now that analogy is something we all can use in our lives!

You can stream Equals on HBO Max.
