Marvel Studio’s latest entrant for Phase Four was Loki starring Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, Richard E. Grant, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw released its final episode titled For All Time. Always. which set up the much-anticipated multiverse in the grandest fashion ahead of the upcoming Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness and Spider-Man: No Way Home. The sixth and final episode of the first season left the show at a cliffhanger after introducing He Who Remains, a slightly benevolent variant of the next big villain of the MCU: Kang the Conqueror. Played by Jonathan Majors (Lovecraft Country, Da 5 Bloods), the genius scientist from the 31st century faced off against the Asgardian Variant Loki and Sylvie in the season finale which left the future of the MCU beaming with endless possibilities. While it has been already confirmed that Loki will return for its second season, it is now being reported that Tom Hiddleston might also return as the God of Mischief in Doctor Strange 2 to star alongside fellow sorcerers Doctor Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen).

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tom Hiddleston will be returning in some capacity to re-unite with his War Horse (2011) co-star Benedict Cumberbatch in Doctor Strange 2. Having previously met the Sorcerer Supreme for a brief period of time in Thor: Ragnarok, fans are surely expecting the two actors to share the screen once again. In the sixth episode of Loki, the actions of the Asgardian Variant Loki and Sylvie led to the branching of the Sacred Timeline, which is expected to be the entry point for the Sorcerer Supreme in Doctor Strange Into The Multiverse of Madness. Elizabeth Olsen, who will also be reprising her role as Scarlet Witch is yet to confirm if she will be a friend or foe to the Sorcerer Supreme which makes the prospect of adding the God of Mischief to the plan much more enticing.

Having also introduced Jonathan Majors in the season finale as a variant of Kang the Conqueror, Loki has officially introduced the multiverse and its long-lasting implications ahead of the upcoming fifth phase. Reported first by FandomWire, Spider-Man: No Way Home will also be having multiple Spider-Men with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield donning the costume once again alongside Tom Holland’s MCU version of the web-slinger. Majors, who rose to fame for HBO’s Lovecraft Country was first announced to play the role of Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. However, his first appearance in Loki has further strengthened the claims that the God of Mischief will play a major role in tackling this multiverse-traveling villain in the future. With the second season being confirmed, the tale of Loki Laufeyson is far from being over.
