While the studies and intense training were quite hard to pull off, a strict teacher further added much pressure to his then-schedule. Anthony Hopkins Was Inspired by His Teacher for His Hannibal Lecter Role
While many can relate to how Hardy got that formidable intense bold character vibes within him early in his career. It was similar to Hopkins who was also taught by the same teacher. In fact, he even modeled him for his portrayal of Hannibal Lecter, an infamous serial killer.
In an interview with Variety, he mentioned two inspirations for creating the character, one of them being his old mentor whom he met at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
“He had a cutting voice, and he would slice you to pieces,” Hopkins said. “His analysis of what you were doing was so precise; it’s a method that stayed with me for all my life.”
