Hardy has collaborated with some of the finest creative visionaries in their passion projects. He arguably ranks among the list of top stars in Hollywood and has starred in numerous blockbuster films. He is a unique and rare talent who embodies his silver-screen characters with his debonair swagger personality.
According to reports, Hardy had long wished to appear in one of James Bond’s films. Not only he but enough A-list talents have expressed their desire to play Bond ( a fictional British Secret Service agent) in the commercially successful franchise. In a recent fresh development, it has come to light that two big stars, Henry Cavill and Aaron-Taylor Johnson, are now among the top contenders to become the new James Bond after legend Daniel Craig stepped down from the iconic role.
Tom Hardy Will Now Have To Compete With These Two stars For The James Bond Role
Tom Hardy is one of the most bankable and successful stars who has done versatile roles throughout his career. He has worked with many top-notch celebrities in several iconic films of Hollywood. Hardy’s wide-ranging filmography holds many fascinating and talked about projects. His over-the-top projects made bucketloads of cash, and his level of acting is just extraordinary.
Since actor Daniel Craig stepped down from the iconic James Bond role, there has been a rumor swirling on the internet that The Dark Knight Rises movie star Tom Hardy wants to take his place in the upcoming sequel in the James Bond franchise. There was a time when the notion of a female James Bond taking over from Daniel Craig was making the rounds online. However, many at the time, including Craig himself, disagreed with the idea.
James Bond producer Barbara Broccoli and Craig both spilled the beans on the upcoming project. In a previous interview, Broccoli told Variety,
“It’s a big decision. It’s not just casting a role. It’s about a whole rethink about where we’re going. I believe we should be creating new characters for women — strong female characters. I’m not particularly interested in taking a male character and having a woman play it. I think women are far more interesting than that.”
Craig added,
“There should simply; be better parts for women and actors of color. Why should a woman play James Bond when there should be a part just as good as James Bond, but for a woman?”
While rumors have been swirling for a long time regarding his possible appearance in the upcoming movie Bond 26, in a candid interview, the Venom: Let There Be Carnage movie star claimed,
“You know, there’s a saying amongst us in the fraternity of acting, and in the fellowship of my peer group that, if you talk about it, you’re automatically out of the race. So I can’t possibly comment on that one. If I mention it, it’s gone…”
Tom Hardy fans have long been speculating if he is actually going to play the next 007. There is no denying the actor will look stunning if he plays the iconic role of a British Secret Service agent in the James Bond Franchise. But the list of the most-wanted stars for the titular character is just getting bigger, with actors like Henry Cavill and Aaron-Taylor Johnson now the alleged top contenders for the role.
