Tom Hardy is one actor who is heavily admired for his work and skillful talent. He has done a good number of movies to prove that he is a capable actor and can play the part with all his might. However, when it comes to standing up against a figure of authority for the sake of his co-workers, he is not one to back out. The actor would try his best to stand up for what is said to be wrong and things can even get intense sometimes.
It was on the set of The Revenant that things got intense, forcing the actor to take action where necessary. Although violence on set is hardly ever condoned, this happened to be the one time everyone was seemingly okay with Hardy taking things too far.
Tom Hardy Held Alejandro G. Iñárritu By The Neck
Tom Hardy was in The Revenant alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, who won an Oscar for Best Actor because of the role of Hugh Glass. Others who were a part of the film included Will Poulter, Paul Anderson, and many more. Seeing that the movie was filmed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu, there was no doubt that it would be incredibly directed.
The way Iñárritu films his movies is always intense. He wanted to only work with natural lighting. This meant that they had a lot of time crunches and at the same time, filming took extremely long. The constant change of locations was also getting onto the cast and crew, to an extent where everyone seemed to grow tired. When things didn’t seem to get better, Hardy took things into his own hand and got physical with Iñárritu, putting him in a headlock in the process.
Tom Hardy Made T-shirts For Everyone
Tom Hardy saw that no one was able to endure just how difficult the direction was getting for them. The conditions in which they were filming were getting worse and worse. Whether it was the sub-zero environment or the unbearable conditions in which they were filming, it was all getting too much. Hardy was very proud of what he had done and even made printed t-shirts for everyone in the cast and crew.
The t-shirts had a print of the actor choking Alejandro G. Iñárritu. This happened to be an incident where physical abuse was not stopped by anyone on the set and was in fact cheered upon. The actor owned up to his actions as well, with no regret whatsoever.
