Tom Cruise is among Hollywood’s most recognizable faces and has had an incredible acting career spanning several decades, and featuring multiple iconic roles. Following his growth and growing reputation, numerous actors have also expressed their wish to star alongside the superstar actor. However, some actors do not wish the same due to Cruise easily losing his temper and his pursuit of perfection.
Actor and filmmaker Rob Lowe also shared a similar incident during his appearance on the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast, as he revealed that the Mission Impossible star went ballistic when he had to share a room with him for The Outsiders audition.
Tom Cruise Lost Him Temper Upon Sharing the Room
Tom Cruise and Rob Lowe starred in Francis Ford Coppola’s 1983 film The Outsiders alongside a huge star cast. During his appearance on Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, Lowe recalled that after L.A. auditions, they were selected for a New York audition. “All of the L.A. people survived the L.A. auditions, and then the handpicked people had to go to New York to face the New York version,” he said.
The Unstable actor shared that they were staying at The Plaza Hotel in New York City. He shared that apart from him and the Jack Reacher star, Emilio Estevez and C. Thomas Howell were also there, and they were required to share rooms. However, Cruise was not so excited at the thought of sharing rooms. Lowe said,
“First time I ever stayed at The Plaza Hotel. We check in and Tom finds out that we’re sharing a room, and just goes ballistic”
The Youngblood star shared that he found his behavior “gnarly,” and it made him laugh. However, he was still impressed by his co-star’s passion for acting, as he said that the Rain Man actor always knew what he wanted in his life.
