But the PR stunt that had worked toward slowly rebuilding his image and reputation by deflecting away from the DC debacle has now come to a shocking standstill.
The Rock reveals via Instagram that late last night, his mother Ata Johnson was involved in a deadly car crash, and in the aftermath, the actor has posted a note of gratitude and ensured the world about her well-being and speedy recovery.
Dwayne Johnson Thankful After Mother Survives Deadly Car Crash
According to the Instagram update posted by Dwayne Johnson, his mother, Ata Johnson, was hit by a drunk driver late last night resulting in a collision that crushed almost half of the car’s front. Luckily, the driver’s side was left unharmed, even though the force of the impact in the accident could have been just as deadly. The police and fire departments of Los Angeles arrived on the scene and Ata Johnson was given immediate care.
Dwayne Johnson, in a touching note, shared via social media:
“She’ll survive and continue to get evaluated. This woman has survived lung cancer, tough marriage, head on collision with a drunk driver, and attempted suicide. She’s a survivor, in ways that make angels and miracles real.”
The note was in reference to Ata Johnson’s successful battle against stage 3 cancer which she beat in 2010 and the head-on collision accident she survived in August 2014. In 2018, The Rock revealed how as a teenager, he had to save his mother from attempting suicide after the family lost their home.
