The SAG-AFTRA strike has got people concerned about Hollywood and the entertainment industry that they love so much. Loki Season 2 is the latest MCU project about to be released that will please fans around the world. There is just one problem though.
The budget used for making Loki Season 2 seems to be a bit much higher than your usual series. This comes after the fact that writers were getting paid unfairly for their work in Hollywood and it seems that the budget does not seem to make sense.
The High Budget Used For Loki Doesn’t Make Sense!
Well, the SAG-AFTRA strike is currently out there affecting every Hollywood project in the works. The Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists is currently on strike for the unfair amount of money that writers and other crew members have been paid in Hollywood.

It does seem that there are some controversies in MCU projects regarding budgets and how they justify their expenses. In a report, it was indicated that the upcoming season 2 of Loki is made with a budget of $141.3 million. The report further indicated that Marvel’s recently failed Phase 5 series Secret Invasion was made with a budget of $212 million!
The fans clearly did not have a good reaction knowing this extravaganza of a budget. Taking to Twitter, fans expressed their concern for the writers and stated that this much amount of money would not probably go to the writers.
And just to put things in a little bit of perspective, the 2017 Patty Jenkins-directed movie Wonder Woman was made with a budget of $120-150 million. Although Loki Season 2 will be amazingly iconic like its predecessor, the budget doesn’t seem to make sense as Marvel Studios and Disney+ seem to be burning cash for their projects.
Loki Season 2 Will Bring Back Iconic Phase 3 Villain!
Fans might remember that in Doctor Strange back in 2016, the iconic villain Dormammu showed his presence. Well, Dormammu probably would not return but his will might be done with the help of Zaniac.
If the comic books are to be followed, Zaniac could very well be one of the villains of Loki Season 2 (alongside Kang the Conqueror) and he is essentially a vessel for Dormammu to do his bidding. Although it hasn’t been confirmed, a return of Dormammu and Tom Hiddleston‘s Loki fighting against both the villains would surely mark another great season for the MCU.
Loki Season 2 will be released on 6th October 2023 and will be available to stream on Disney+ when it arrives.
