The time for James Cameron is finally here as the trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water makes its rounds around the internet. The awe-struck trailer features a never before seen Pandora along with the liveliness of the planet.
With the heavy CGI involved, the comparisons between Cameron’s work and Marvel Studios were bound to happen. Claiming that the movie already looks better than the entirety of Phase 4 of the MCU, the fans are indeed trolling.
James Cameron’s CGI Gets Compared To Marvel Studios
With an astonishing and extraordinary CGI used in the movie, the trailer broke the internet apart. James Cameron’s return to cinema has fans excited as the sequel to the classic Avatar will release after 13 years.
The fans cannot forget the name of Marvel when they hear the words “CGI”. Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was not as good as the previous 3 phases. With movies like Thor: Love and Thunder and shows like She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, several people have made Marvel their foe. The global reception has been overwhelmingly positive for the trailer however, Marvel got dragged into the quarrel for CGI.
Although the trailer does not tell many parts of the plot, it can be seen that Zoe Saldana’s Neytiri and Sam Worthington’s Jake Sully have formed a family. They set off to explore the hidden depths of Pandora but when an ancient threat emerges out of its grave, Jake must fight against the humans once again.
The People Complained of James Cameron’s Avatar 2
People around the world immediately started comparing Avatar: The Way of Water to Disney’s Pocahontas. With claims of repetitiveness, redundancy, and, a weak CGI (as if that was possible), the people have taken over Twitter much to the dismay of others. With comments like “an over-hyped movie” and “3 hours is too long”, a wave of negative reviews has already been starting to roam around the internet.
James Cameron’s statements regarding Marvel and DC don’t help the case either as he had stated that “Marvel and DC’s characters are like college kids”. The people fear that salty Marvel and DC fans would review bomb the movie when it releases to try and diminish its box-office run. James Cameron has spent 13 years on the film and would surely be his magnum opus.
Avatar: The Way of Water is set for a release date on 16th December 2022 in theaters across in the US.
