Ever since Dwayne Johnson made it big in Hollywood after leaving his pro-wrestling legacy behind, multiple biggies from the squared circle have followed in the actor’s footsteps. And it appears, after the Fast x star John Cena, who too has found his footing in the acting realm, another Fast & Furious star and current WWE superstar might be following in the same path.
Following numerous accomplishments in UFC and becoming one of the most prominent stars in the current WWE roster, Ronda Rousey has proven herself as one of the most talked about names in this field. But recent reports indicate that Rousey might part ways with WWE sooner than fans expected.

Ronda Rousey to follow in Dwayne Johnson’s footsteps?
Shayna Baszler’s betrayal at Money in the Bank came out of nowhere, costing her and Ronda Rousey their tag team titles. Considering fans were expecting the two might have a long run as the tag team champions, Baszler turning on Rousey left everyone flabbergasted in the Arena, which aroused several questions. But it seems the reason behind this rushed storyline might’ve to deal with Rousey’s plans of parting ways with pro wrestling. According to Dave Meltzer, the Fast & Furious star has plans of moving past WWE and has already given them a hard-out. He explained,
“This was always, always, always the plan. It kept getting delayed and then Ronda got hurt and the thing was – and I don’t know the date, and it might be SummerSlam, it might be a little bit after – the deal is that Ronda has a hard out. She gave a date, ‘This is my last date.’”
Although it can’t be exactly said what her reasoning might be behind ending her second stint with WWE, it seems the Fast & Furious star is eying on the same path as Dwayne Johnson.
Ronda Rousey wants to be the next Bruce Lee
Like other pro-wrestling biggies John Cena, Dwayne Johnson, and Dave Bautista, Ronda Rousey too wants to make it big in Hollywood. Reflecting on Michelle Yeoh’s critically acclaimed Everything Everywhere All at Once, Rousey believes the world is ready for more female-led blockbusters and expressed she wanted to be the next Bruce Lee. Although the WWE star is still yet to find her breakthrough project in the industry that will give her the required boost, she has expressed her want to lead a martial arts blockbuster and walk in the footsteps of Lee. She said,
“I would really love to be the next Bruce Lee or Jet Li. That opportunity hasn’t really come up yet, but hopefully it does one day because I feel like I have such a passion for choreography and combat storytelling. It’s actually one of the reasons why I got into WWE, so I could really immerse myself in that art and study it. And I think I could create something different than what anyone’s ever seen before.”
Although only time will tell whether her ambitions in showbiz will come to fruition or not, following her gigs in Furious 7 and The Expendables 3, Rousey does comprise the ability to lead an action blockbuster on her back.
