Dwayne Johnson Lost His Rolex Watch in a WWE Live Match

Talking to Oprah Winfrey on her Vision Tour, Dwayne Johnson shared that he has wanted to own a Rolex watch after he starts making money, as he considered it a symbol of success. “In my mind, what it meant to be successful was a Rolex watch,” he shared.

And he did the same as he started making a little bit of money after starting his WWE career. The Rock shared that he bought a Rolex for himself. However, he was saddened after he lost the watch during a live WWE match. He shared that the watch slipped off his hand after a chaotic brawl broke out in the ring.

While others were engaged in the brawl, Johnson was looking for his watch. Although he eventually found it, his prized Rolex watch was already damaged. The Jungle Cruise star shared that he was “heartbroken” seeing the condition of his watch.

However, it also made him realize that he did not need such a possession at the time. “And I go home that night, and I remember immediately thinking, ‘This is a sign, and I don’t need it,'” he shared. The wrestler-turned-actor also shared the valuable lesson he learned after losing the watch.

Dwayne Johnson Regrets Buying a Diamond-Studded Rolex

While Dwayne Johnson considered having Rolex as a symbol of success, the actor shared that he regrets buying it as it was not the best investment he made at the time. He shared that he believed that “every successful man has a Rolex watch that has diamonds in it.”

And with the same belief, he also bought one for himself in 1999 while he was still living in a rented apartment. The Red Notice star called it a “horrible financial decision,” as he stated that it wasn’t the right judgment for him at the time. And after he lost the watch in the WWE live show, he claimed that he decide to spend his money on more valuable things and never got anything like that again.
